BSC students awarded prestigious Pinnacle College Media Awards

Â鶹ÊÓƵ (CMA) recently recognized two Â鶹ÊÓƵ (BSC) students for their remarkable work. and each received a Pinnacle College Media Award during the 2023 Associated Collegiate Press/College Media Association Fall National College Media Convention.
Lehman, a sophomore in the BSC Graphic Design and Communications program from Dickinson, N.D., was awarded third place in Division II Best of Collegiate Design for Best Infographic. This award commends excellence in the creation of original artwork designed to communicate information effectively, including quantifiable data and geographical references. Lehman was recognized for her exceptional work on an infographic featured in Â鶹ÊÓƵ Mystician's December 2022 issue that centered around student government fees and college fees, exemplifying her strength in conveying complex information through visually appealing design.
Lehman served as the graphic designer for BSC’s student newspaper, Â鶹ÊÓƵ Mystician, during the 2022-23 academic year and has ascended to the role of Editor-in-Chief for the 2023-24 term. She is set to graduate in May 2024 and plans to pursue a career in print design.
Iverson, former Production Manager Â鶹ÊÓƵ MYX, and Â鶹ÊÓƵ MYX staff collectively received 3rd place in Division II Radio Station of the Year. Â鶹ÊÓƵ award acknowledges excellence in coverage, content and reporting, production quality, service to the campus community, and innovative use of audio/video. Â鶹ÊÓƵ MYX, BSC’s student online radio station, was recognized for its commitment to delivering high-quality programming.
Iverson, who served as the station's production manager during the 2022-2023 academic year, graduated from BSC with an A.A.S. degree in Mass Communication in May 2023. Currently residing in Las Vegas, Nev., Iverson plans to further his education by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in Spanish.
Â鶹ÊÓƵ CMA is the nation’s largest organization dedicated to serving collegiate media advisers. Â鶹ÊÓƵ CMA’s Pinnacle Awards honor the best college media organizations and individual work, and the annual contest is open to student work produced for any college media organization, including print, broadcast, and online outlets, during an academic year.
